The Malasits Story

Zsolt Malasits was born in 1961 in Győr, Hungary. He is a painter who lives and works in the same place.

He continued his art studies in Finland between 1989-1993.

Since 1984, he has been creating artefacts of artistic quality. Techniques used: ceramic, stone, bronze sculptures, oil paintings on handmade paper, acrylic and oil paintings on canvas. In 1998, he opened the Malasits Gallery in the historic city center of Győr, where he continues to create.

In 2000, the Korszakzvaldo group was founded, of which he is a founding member and artistic director. The group consists of well-known, famous painters who paint giant canvas paintings and place them on the walls of buildings in the city.

In 2008, he founded the Three Hands art group.

He has long been interested in human relations, man's relationship with God, man's relationship with man. The things of life, love, love, man's search for a way in the created world. His works are organized around these themes. The fish regularly appears as a motif in his pictures, which symbolizes constant metamorphosis and the elusiveness of things. The warm color scheme and design language represent the longing for a clean life.

It not only wants to provide a visual experience, but also to awaken thoughts. His inner life is characterized by a fundamental duality: good and bad, selfishness and self-sacrifice, which are at war in his creative soul. Its main purpose is to search and find the "ESSENTIAL".

His hand is often guided by divine providence and inspiration penetrating his soul, which is much stronger and clearer than the limited ideas of the earthly ego.

His art is basically characterized by spirituality, sacredness and the presentation of traditions left over from the time of our pure, holy kings.

In 2017, he painted the icon of Szent László - using several techniques - one of which will be permanently displayed at the Hungarian Consulate in Krakow, as Szent László was born in Krakow.

He has been actively involved in the cultural life of Győr since 1993.

Countless individual and group exhibitions, cultural programs organized by him, charity events and donations are linked to his name.

In 2017, he paints and assembles a Giant Picture from 16 canvases, each 80×103 cm, which he auctions piece by piece at an event and donates a significant portion of the proceeds to charity.

The reputation of the city of Győr is enhanced by several international art festivals organized abroad. Among others, in 2016 in France, where he won two gold ratings at two different international exhibitions, and in 2017 in Poland at the Polish-Hungarian Days.

For Zsolt Malasits personal peace of mind, he puts his successes at the service of humanity by setting an example and emphasizing the importance of the family, and only the next generation will decide where to classify the results achieved.

He wins prizes at exhibitions in Italy and twice in France.

Apart from his country, he also exhibits in Slovakia, Finland, Sweden, Austria, Italy, France, Switzerland, Croatia and Poland.
